What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a powerful yet very enjoyable altered state of awareness where the individual can have a variety of quite subtle experiences. This can range from a feeling of heightened senses, deep relaxation, inner peace, slowing down of the body system, pain relief, time distortion or simply the feeling of drifting off.  
In reality most people experience an enhanced sense of relaxation, an increased concentration and imagination and ability to access information about themselves.
When therapists talk about trance they are referring to a totally natural state of consciousness that we all experience, in various degrees, all day. This can be seen more tangibly when, for example, you read a whole page of a book then realise your mind was ‘somewhere else’, or when you drive somewhere and are concerned to notice that you have no recollection of how you got there. If a situation required you to be out of trance however, your conscious mind would have taken over again. Hypnosis is a very natural and very safe experience.

What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy draws on many therapeutic techniques to assist people in choosing a preferred and more fulfilling way of thinking, feeling or behaving. Hypnotherapy can also encourage personal growth and development, and help people draw on their own powerful resources.  
The hypnotherapist enables the client to become relaxed and to focus their attention so that they may attempt to address the subconscious mind through the use of metaphor, storytelling, guided imagery and direct suggestion in order to evoke meaningful and beneficial change.  
In this relaxed trance the client is considered to be more open to creative and new ideas and has greater problem solving ability, as well an intensified focus and imagination.  
Techniques may also be practised in order to uncover and resolve problems that may be perceived to be rooted in the past. In addition, the hypnotherapist encourages a present/future focus in order to motivate, inspire and reprogramme unhelpful ways of thinking.



What is NLP?
Neuro Linguistic Programming has been described as a user’s manual for your brain.  Using numerous techniques that are rapid and also enjoyable; NLP can reprogram the way you think, feel, and behave in just a few short sessions. It can positively change your attitude and perspective so you get the most out of everything you do.  
NLP helps you to take back control, so that in any area of life you choose, you can feel the very best about it. The techniques I give you to resolve your issue, can be adapted to any situation or problem.
